for those of you voters in nj, good news. if you aren’t registered to a party, you can still vote in the upcoming “super tuesday” primary on Feb 5th. here’s the link
also, we are going to start open mics. i’ll post the dates up soon.
A Belleville-ite asked me why the library had no facebook. So I made one.
Since it’s a facebook for an organization and not a person, I can’t add anyone. That means I need YOU to add your facebook to ours!

shoot me an email if you tried and CAN’T get it to work, because I have no way of testing it. thanks. —-> my email is
hey bloggers
We had a goal: to reach 100 belleville myspacers by Jan 1st. Well, today is January 16th and we have 118 friends! Our new goal is to reach 150 belleville myspacers by March 17th. You can help by adding yourself: myspace.com/bellepl
We wanted to add belleville people, basically so we could post bulletins and let belleville residents know what’s going on at the library. By ‘we’, I mean me (JP) and pretty much every staff member who’s younger than me: Danielle, Omair, Mike “meatzo”, Phill…we all share!
Also, there’s a job open here at the library if you are interested: teen librarian
talk to you bloggers soon…

Hi bloggers, here’s a few updates:
Thanks to everybody who joined us at the library booth during “Just A Party” last week. It was a really good time for everyone involved. I uploaded a picture taken by library board member Tom McCrohan and i’ll have a whole gallery up in a few days’ time.
The Teen room AND the Children’s room now have a Wii. Email me your Wii number and i’ll add you and email you back with BOTH of our numbers. Then we can trade Miis!
Have you guys seen the Q&ANJ commercial that was shown during the ‘07 MTV music awards? It is, surprisingly, entertaining. Usually these types of videos are a bit stale. This video is a bit stale, our video response to it is less stale.
Speaking of videos, the state library is holding a contest. Read more about it at www.njlibraries.org and click on the contest link. Ryan, i’m looking in your direction. I hope some Belleville people enter, and I am going to make sure that our community has a presence during the contest voting period!
thanks bloggers! - JP

Hi bloggers,
Our library purchased a Wii, and we would like to be your Wii friend.
Our Wii number is 1620 2677 3539 1955. Please email me your Wii number, so I can add you back. Remember, we can’t communicate via the Wii unless we both add each other!
We will be purchasing a second Wii for our Teen room, so make sure to check back so you can add the Teen Room as well!
And don’t forget to come out to Just A Party on Sep 13th to check out the Belleville Public Library table: We will have two large (free!) video gaming stations for Guitar Hero and Wii Sports, as well as on-the-spot library card sign ups, giveaways, and most importantly, Me!
This is a story of a girl, a lover of books, a book doctor, and a writer’s creations. This is a story of a man who read so well that whatever he read came to life. This is a story of a man named Dustfinger, lonely for the life from which he was wrenched away. This is a story of a woman, who loved her books more than people. This is a story of a writer, who knew not the horrors he created. This is a story of books burned, of murders committed, and lives thrown into disarray. This is a story that must be read - by all lovers of books. — Roshan
These three books chronicle the adventures of the heroes of Pern. Pern was a human colony that faced extinction from the dreaded Thread - mychorrizoid spores that destroyed any living matter. Their salvation turned out to be fire lizards that they enlarged and called dragons, after the Earth legends long forgotten. These Dragons impressed telepathic people a their partners for life. Together, these heroes fought the deadly Thread, keeping the planet Pern safe for the people. This is a fast paced trilogy that has an excellent plot. Unfortunately, the story moved too quick for the characters to develop properly - even after over 750 pages. However, those who like Dragons and a fast-paced epic adventure will love this book. — Roshan
Eragon is a book that is sure to be loved by fans of books such as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Harry Potter series, and other epic tales. A tale of an ordinary boy who’s fate is nothing less than extraordinary, this book will enchant any reader, taking them to a world where immortal, all-powerful, and deranged kings reign and dragons are the hope of the land. From start to finish - you cannot put down this wonderful book, filled with varied characters that grow on you, as well as a fast paced plot that is sure to thrill. Everyone should read this book! —Roshan
