Dragonflight, Dragonquest, White Dragon by Anne McCaffrey
These three books chronicle the adventures of the heroes of Pern. Pern was a human colony that faced extinction from the dreaded Thread - mychorrizoid spores that destroyed any living matter. Their salvation turned out to be fire lizards that they enlarged and called dragons, after the Earth legends long forgotten. These Dragons impressed telepathic people a their partners for life. Together, these heroes fought the deadly Thread, keeping the planet Pern safe for the people. This is a fast paced trilogy that has an excellent plot. Unfortunately, the story moved too quick for the characters to develop properly - even after over 750 pages. However, those who like Dragons and a fast-paced epic adventure will love this book. — Roshan
